Let the sunshine in with our wine of the week, Summer Berry!

You may recognize the name Summer Berry from our 2017 Podium Series. This innovative blend rapidly sold out in our Tasting Room and online and blew our customers out of the water.

This fresh, sweet blend of Strawberry, Peach, Blueberry and Raspberry wines make Summer Berry the ideal summer seasonal. It’s crisp, lively fruit flavors with tart berry and stone fruits will certainly help you defeat the heat. Made with 100% real fruit, Summer Berry has no added color or flavors. Try it chilled or add a splash to your summer mixology with our Summer Berry Sangria.

Keep an eye out for Summer Berry at a retailer near you and get it while you can! It’s our most recent addition to our seasonal line-up meaning it will only be available for a limited time.

St. James Winery is excited to be the official wine and cider sponsor of this year’s Big BAM on Route 66 and Big BAM on the Katy Trail! These two cycling events offer beautiful journeys for experienced and novice cyclists. If you don’t have a bike – you can still be a big part of this experience by joining us any (or every) evening in the featured community stops for a free concert and some St. James wine and McIntyre Cider.

For Big Bam on Route 66, cyclists start their ride in Joplin on June 17 and end in Eureka on June 22. This Big BAM (Bike Across Missouri) is a 304 mile journey that features rolling hills, beautiful roads, great people and small town hospitality. Big BAM on the Katy Trail will be October 7 through 12 starting in Clinton and ending in St. Charles. This route is 311 miles along the Katy Trail, offering riders a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoor beauty of Missouri during autumn. What better way to experience the peak colors of the season?

The director of Big BAM, Greg Wood, as quoted in KTTN News said, “The event is like a festival on two wheels. There are a lot of moving parts, but the cyclists are the friendliest people in the world, always encouraging each other onward. And there’s plenty of time to explore the small towns along the way. It’s a ride, not a race.”

At St. James Winery we love opportunities to experience the great State of Missouri. So whether you are a cyclist, a local seeking some community fun, or a traveler seeking a great Missouri experience, join us for Big BAM rides and relaxation destinations. We are excited to be a part of these great days and nights.

Our wine of the week is our Peach fruit wine!

Made with 100% rich, ripe, real fruit juice, St. James Winery’s Peach fruit wine is the next best thing to biting into a perfectly plump peach. Bursting with the aroma and flavors of ripe peaches, this wine brings fresh-from-the-orchard peaches to your glass.

Like all of our fruit wines, Peach wine can be used to create delicious concoctions. Brew your own love potion or cook up some savory smoke roasted chicken with peach balsamic drizzle. Delicious with desserts and best served chilled, our Peach wine is a must for hot summer days!

Pick up a bottle of this fruit wine for your next gathering and create some sweet memories with friends and family this summer. Life is sweeter with St. James Winery Wine.

Available in our Tasting Room, in stores and online.

Velvet Red is our wine of the week!

For nearly 50 years, the St. James Winery family has been a part of your celebratory toast with our two beloved, time-tested wines: Velvet Red and Velvet White. When Jim and Pat Hofherr established the St. James Winery in 1970, the Concord-based products made by the Italian immigrants in the community inspired them to develop Velvet Red.

This sweet red just so happens to be our winery’s first and best-selling wine. With a beautiful light ruby color, Velvet Red has delicious aromas of candied apples and cotton candy. Satisfyingly sweet, fruity and velvety smooth, this classic tastes and smells like ripe, fresh off the vine Concord grapes.

This is an ideal gift to introduce someone to our quality wines and heritage or to satisfy the sweet cravings of those who know us best. Velvet Red is best served chilled and pairs great with a chocolate truffles or poached pears. If you’re up for the challenge, try out our Velvet Red Red Velvet Cake recipe.

Our wine of the week is our Friendship School White.

Delicate, fresh and fun, our Friendship School White may be the perfect semi-dry white wine. Enjoy its smooth aromas of grapefruit and marmalade with fresh, crisp flavors of green apples and lemon. It’s perfect to enjoy with spicy peanuts or soft cheeses.

In addition to its award-winning taste and beautiful presentation, this wine is a salute to the one-room schoolhouse adjacent to our vineyards. The Friendship School was built in the late 1800s by Italian families who brought winemaking to our Meramec Highlands region. They used this one-room schoolhouse to educate generations of children in both academics and heritage. This schoolhouse is preserved today in our vineyards, and our Friendship School wines were created to reflect the sense of community and heritage represented in that little schoolhouse.

Friendship School White is available at the St. James Winery taste room, online, and at select retailers near you. For a festive twist on this philanthropic wine, try our San-green-a recipe.

Our wine of the week is our highly awarded dry red wine, Cynthiana!

Made with the finest Norton grapes from our vineyard and aged in stainless steel barrels, this wine is a fruity and complex, full-bodied dry red wine with flavors of red stone fruit, raspberries and blackberries.

Smooth tannins, plus its terrific texture, make it a perfect partner with barbecue or aromatic cheeses.
If you are looking for a delicious recipe featuring this dry red, try our Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini.

Part of our Frontier series, Cynthiana is available in our Tasting Room, online, and at a store near you.

This week’s wine of the week is a celebration inspiration! St. James Winery Sparkling Moscato is a well-balanced sparkler with crisp acidity and a lingering, flavor-filled finish. Pop this bubbly open with family and friends for the ideal toast at any gathering.

Our Sparkling Moscato is produced using the Valvin Muscat grapes grown in our local vineyards. This was developed at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Cornell University. Valvin Muscat is a complex hybrid grape and has been growing in select vineyards since 1990. Today, Moscato is a popular choice for wine enthusiasts.

St. James Winery Sparkling Moscato is an incredibly fruity and intensely floral effervescent wine with hints of honeysuckle on the nose and flavors of peaches and apricots that delight the palate. Enjoy this wine with spicy hummus and pita chips, or make it the preferred toast for your next celebration!

Find this wine in our St. James Winery Tasting Room or online.

This week’s wine of the week will certainly brighten up your winter!

Part of the Frontier Series, our 2016 Vignoles is a lively, easy-drinking Ozark Highlands semi-dry white wine. The Vignoles grape is a part of the Missouri wine heritage, and is perfectly suited for our unique growing region.

These growing conditions helped to produce this highly awarded wine that has floral and fruity flavors of marmalade and pineapple, which finishes clean and crisp. If you’re looking for a touch of sunshine, this wine is an excellent tropical escape.

When it comes to pairing a Vignoles wine, spicy is the route to take. You will certainly enjoy this wine served with a spicy Asian dish!

This Frontier Series wine is available in stores, at the St. James Winery Tasting Room and online.

Our wine of the week is our Raspberry sweet wine. Like all of our fruit wines, it is made with 100% rich, ripe, real fruit juice with no added artificial flavors or colors.

If you are feeling adventurous, this is a great wine for mixology experimentation. Try making your own beautiful and zesty Red Tiger Cocktail, or, if you want a real baking challenge, try your hand at the Lemon Wine Cake with Raspberry Curd Filling.

Our fruit wine series was started in 1973, and the St. James Winery Raspberry has won numerous awards in its category throughout the years.

Come taste this fruit wine and create some sweet memories this Valentine’s Day at the St. James Winery Tasting Room… because life is sweeter
with St. James Wine.
