Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been recommended by the CDC to stay home. St. James Winery has brought people together and allowed them to share experiences over their favorite glass of wine for 50 years, and we want to continue to do this even during these trying times. With that, here’s a list of four ways to inspire you to connect with the ones you love while staying in.

1. Try our new Sparkling Fruit Wines. We recently released four new wines that are fun and sparkling variations of our popular fruit wines and now come in 375ml cans. These lighter, lower ABV versions have a sparkling effect and come in four flavors – Blackberry, Peach, Strawberry and Mango. For a night in idea, try the canned sparkling version and the traditional 750ml bottled wine to compare the differences. You could also do a blind taste test to see if your partner can guess the flavor! To purchase, you can find them online here in a special sampler combo pack.

2. Get outside. Staying home and social distancing doesn’t mean staying inside. As the spring weather warms up, go outside and enjoy the season. Sit around a fire with a glass of red wine, have a midday picnic with our limited release Strawberry Moscato, or sit on the porch or patio and watch the sunset with your special someone and favorite wine. Sunshine and warmer weather are sure to lighten everyone’s moods after a long winter.

3. Fruit wine mixology fun. Our popular fruit wines are made with 100% real fruit and are perfect to use as a base for mixology for some fun wine cocktails. Browse our website for different recipes such as Blackberry Mojito, Strawberry Lemonade, or Blueberry Gin Fitz. You can also have fun at home mixing up your own recipe. It’s simple –

    • Start with one of our eight fruit wines.
    • Add a spirit of your choice such as tequila, vodka, gin, or rum. Flavored spirits can add in another layer of flavors like vanilla or citrus!
    • Add some optional club soda or lemon-lime soda to give it some fizz.
    • Give it a splash of citrus such as lemon or lime.

The possibilities are endless and you can create some fun recipe inventions! Snap a picture of your recipe and share it with friends and family on social media. Maybe, take a moment to tag @stjameswinery while you’re at it.

4. Host a virtual comparative tasting. Make sure you and your friends have the same wines on hand and meet online!
For example, you and your friends could compare a Chardonnay to our Chardonel.

Or you could do a vertical tasting of the same wine but from different years. Currently, we have the following Norton wines available for purchase online:
Norton 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2011
Try the different wines, take notes, then compare and contrast to discuss them.

As a reminder, you can purchase our wine at stjameswinery.com, with curbside pick-up, and we just launched local delivery within the radius found on the map below. Read more about how our local delivery works here.

We hope these ideas will help you to sip back and relax in the weeks ahead! Cheers!

Just in time for the first day of spring, we are excited to announce the online release of our newest wines – sparkling fruit wines in 375 ml cans! These new additions to our lineup are a variation of our popular 750 ml fruit wines, which happen to be the most awarded fruit wines in the USA. Like our traditional fruit wines, these new canned wines are made with 100% real fruit, with no added colors or flavors and are gluten-free.

Although similar, there are a few differences in our traditional fruit wines and these new sparkling fruit wines. Other than being in a convenient, ready-to-go anywhere can format, the sparkling fruit wines are a lower ABV and are carbonated to create a light, sparkling fizz. Our traditional fruit wines are 10% ABV while these new sparkling fruit wines are 6.2% ABV. These changes lend itself to a lighter and very refreshing wine that is perfect for outdoor occasions and summer weather!

The flavors included in the lineup are Blackberry, Strawberry, Peach and Mango. Cans will be available in stores after April 1, but you can buy these single cans online starting TODAY!

Sweet, light and refreshing, these new wines are made for getaways & gatherings, docks & decks, pools & porches, and backyards & BBQ’s. Cheers!

A best of show winner for dessert wine, St. James Winery Blackberry fruit wine is this week’s wine of the week!

This luscious wine, made from 100% blackberry juice, took Best of Show Dessert, Best of Class and Triple Gold this year at the prestigious Dan Berger’s International Wine Competition. Needless to say, we are proud of this win.

Our Blackberry wine also received gold medal honors at the following 2018 international competitions: Jerry Mead’s International Wine Competition, Pacific Rim International Wine Competition, Tasters Guild International Wine Judging and at the Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.

This is one of our best-selling fruit wines, and the international awards explain why. The taste of ripe blackberries in a bottle best describe this decadent wine, and it is absolutely delicious when served chilled. Try it in our Blackberry Fruit Wine Cake recipe.

With the weather warming up, St. James Winery has the answer for the perfect tropical escape! Our new, year-round fruit wine was a past customer favorite seasonal wine selection, Mango! This sweet wine is made from 100% pure, ripe mangos with no added artificial flavors or colors.

St. James Winery Mango is a great wine to enjoy chilled during the hot months of summer. It’s a great addition in many drink and food recipes too. A favorite drink recipe at our St. James campus is our Mango Wine Slushie. You can find our refreshing wine slushies in The Gardens, located between the Winery and Public House Brewing Company’s St. James Taproom. While this delicious wine slushie can be found in The Gardens, you can make it in the comfort of your own home. This recipe works great with any of the St. James Winery fruit wines.

Find St. James Winery Mango and our other fruit wine in our Tasting Room or in a store near you to beat the heat this summer!

Did you realize our St. James Winery premium fruit wines are the most awarded fruit wines in the USA? If you haven’t tried this line of wine, you are definitely missing out!

We recommend you begin by sipping our highly-awarded Blueberry sweet wine. It has received six silver medals in 2016 alone, and we are sure it will become as special to you as it is to us!

Made from 100% pure, ripe blueberries with nothing artificial and everything delicious, Blueberry makes for a wonderfully decadent dessert all on its own. It also pairs well with a slice of angel food cake and a side of lemon sorbet.

For those who may not be looking for a dessert to add to their table, try using this quality wine to create additional food items. It makes both cooking and baking gold medal events!

It’s a beautiful day – the sun is shining and a warm breeze is blowing through the trees. You’re out enjoying the best activities the outdoors has to offer. There’s not much that can make this summer day better, except perhaps a cool drink with the light and delicious flavor of ripe peaches made with real fruit juice.

This summer St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company are teaming up to share how life is sweeter with peaches. These two unique brands have a special offering of wines, beer and hard cider to make your summer more satisfying:

St. James Winery Peach Wine
The next best thing to biting into a fresh, ripe peach! This Peach fruit wine uses 100% real fruit juice and brings fresh-from-the-orchard peach flavors and aromas to your glass.

St. James Winery Peachy Sangria Seasonal Wine
A fresh and fruity blend of Peach, Raspberry and Moscato wines. This wine has aromas and flavors of freshly sliced peaches and juicy Moscato with a touch of raspberry on the finish.

McIntyre Cider Peach Hard Apple Cider
The aromas are juicy peaches mixed with fresh apple notes. The cider is a clear, sparkling blond in color. There are subtle flavors of biting into a ripe peach along with juicy apples, which comes from real fruit juice. The finish of the cider is clean and crisp.

Public House Brewing Company Farmstand Peach Ale Seasonal Beer
We captured juicy peach flavors in this golden easy-drinking seasonal and made sure the real fruit juice used was a good accent to the base beer, bringing balance and allowing the beer flavors to be present.

You can find these products together in local retailers throughout Missouri this summer.

You can also try the beverages at the Fermentation Campus in St. James, Mo. The campus contains award-winning, next-door neighbors St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company, with The Gardens between them acting as a shared outdoor wine and beer garden. St. James Winery and the Missouri Wine and Grape Board are excited to announce the launch of the Missouri winery Visitors’ Program (MVP). MVP will reward visitors to Missouri wineries through points redeemable for unique rewards. The program will officially launch on Thursday, September 1, just in time for the first weekend of Missouri Wine Month!

Participating wineries, including St. James Winery, will hand out MVP tickets, each with a unique code, which program participants can collect every time they visit. These codes are then entered into a free account the participant creates on MissouriWineMVP.com for points. The first visit to a winery will earn participants 500 points, with visits 2-10 to that same winery being worth 100 points each, and 11+ visits to the same winery accruing 10 points each. Points are redeemable for rewards on the MVP website. The best strategy to earn points for rewards is to explore Missouri wine country – visit new wineries throughout the state and you’ll not only earn more points, but you will also discover great wineries and award-winning wines along the way!
