Cranberry Apple Cider

Created with fall sipping in mind, Cranberry Apple Cider combines the best of the season – St. James Winery Cranberry wine, fresh juices, and whole spices. Mixed and warmed in a slow cooker, it’s easy and oh-so-delicious!

 

Ingredients:

1 bottle (750ml) St. James Winery Cranberry Wine

3 cups apple juice

1.5 cups orange juice

3 whole cinnamon sticks

1 tsp. whole cloves

1 – 12 ounce package of fresh cranberries (optional)

1 red apple, thinly sliced (optional)

 

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients in a large slow cooker. Heat on low for 3-4 hours or until hot and the spices are mulled. Ladle the cider into your favorite mug, sip, and relax. Keep the cider on warm and serve out of the crock for an evening of sipping and sharing, or refrigerate leftover Cranberry Apple Cider for re-heating and enjoying later.

Cranberry Holiday Sangria

Created in partnership with our friends at Just a Taste, the Wineberry Punch Holiday Cocktail is a delight to the senses. Craft with your choice of sweet or dry red wine to achieve your ideal experience.

Ingredients:

16oz red wine of your choice (we used Winemaker Norton 42)

8 oz Cranberry Wine

4oz Raspberry Wine

4 oz fresh orange juice

Ice

3 oz chilled Sprite

Lemon, Lime, Orange thinly sliced zest for garnish.

Instructions:

In a pitcher, combine the wines and juices. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours. Stir well and pour into ice-filled white wine glasses. Top each cocktail with ½ oz of Sprite and garnish with the citrus fruit zests.

 

 

Cranberry Poached Pears

Seasonal Cranberry Wine, crafted with all-natural cranberry juice, is a wonderful addition to your holiday table – in a glass and on a serving dish! This slow cooker Cranberry Poached Pear recipe was created by our Director of Marketing, Brandon Hofherr. It is simple, yet elegant, festive, and flavorful. Enjoy!

 

Ingredients

6 Bosc pears, peeled, with stems remaining

1 – 2 bottles of Cranberry Wine, depending on the depth of your slow cooker

1/2 cup white sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cinnamon sticks

Pinch of whole cloves

Zest of 1 lemon

Pinch of salt

 

Instructions

In a low slow cooker set to low, combine 1 bottle of wine and remaining ingredients except for pears. Stir mixture lightly, then add pears. Add additional wine to cover if needed. Cook for 4 hours. Remove pears to a serving dish or individual dishes. Transfer the liquid to a small saucepan and simmer until it reduces to the consistency of light syrup. Pour the syrup over the pears, and enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped mascarpone.

 

 

Cranberry Moscow Mule

Ingredients

3 oz. St. James Winery Cranberry Wine
1 oz. Vodka
½ oz. Fresh lime juice
3 oz. Ginger Beer

Instructions

Combine ingredients in glass filled with ice.

Glassware: 15 oz. Double Rocks or Mule Mug

Optional Garnish: Rosemary Sprig, Candied Cranberries or Orange Wedge

Cranberry Wine Martini

Crafted with just three ingredients – Cranberry wine, vodka, and a twist of lemon or lime, the holiday flavors and color shine brilliantly. Mix the wine and vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with fresh lemon and lime.

 

 

Cranberry Sangria

Seasonal Cranberry wine shines beautifully in this fruity, fun sangria recipe. Simple ingredients mix easily to create a festive blended wine cocktail that’s sure to please.

Ingredients

2 bottles Vignoles
1/2 bottle Peach Fruit Wine
3/4 bottle Cranberry Seasonal Wine
Bag of fresh cranberries
Bag of frozen peaches, chopped
Splash of club soda or ginger beer (optional bubbly)

Instructions

Mix all ingredients (excluding optional bubbly) together in a large pitcher. Chill for 3-4 hours, or overnight. Serve over ice with a splash of bubbly, and a fresh lime garnish.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup St. James Winery Cranberry Wine
  • 1-1/2 cups orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 package fresh cranberries
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • pinch cinnamon
  • pinch ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine 3 T orange juice with the cornstarch. Mix completely and reserve.
  2. Place the wine, cranberries, brown sugar, remaining orange juice, cinnamon and cloves in a sauce pan.
  3. Bring to a strong simmer and cook 4 -5 minutes.
  4. Add the cornstarch mixture. Simmer stirring until thickened, 2 -3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in chopped rosemary.

Serving Suggestion

This is delicious as a topping on fresh pound cake or with main dishes like grilled pork or chicken.

  2. Stir until honey is blended into solution.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 days, stirring daily to keep honey in solution.
  4. To serve for a party, warm in a crockpot.
  5. To serve by the glass, pour into mugs, and microwave just until mixture is warm.
