If you’ve visited the Tasting Room in St. James, MO, then maybe you’ve tasted one of the first St. James Winery selections to go into a 375ml can. If not, then here’s what you need to know about this Tasting Room exclusive wine!

The Lightly Spritzed Rosé is delightfully refreshing with bright strawberry and lemon flavors that bubble across the palate. This limited rosé is ideal for those who love a semi-sweet wine, as it is not too sweet or too dry and is perfect for enjoying during the warmer days of summer. Serve chilled and try pairing it with grilled shrimp, bbq pork or fresh fruit.

The packaging is great because there is no glass to worry about or a partially empty bottle to store! Each 375ml can is equal to a half bottle of wine and this lovely rosé has an ABV of 9.4%. Because of its packaging, this wine fits easily into a cooler and can safely go places glass cannot such as rivers, lakes and even poolside.

Watch the video below to find out what our Executive Winemaker, Andrew Meggitt, and Tasting Room Manager, Daniel Wynn, have to say about St. James Winery Lightly Spritzed Rosé. Cheers!

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been recommended by the CDC to stay home. St. James Winery has brought people together and allowed them to share experiences over their favorite glass of wine for 50 years, and we want to continue to do this even during these trying times. With that, here’s a list of four ways to inspire you to connect with the ones you love while staying in.

1. Try our new Sparkling Fruit Wines. We recently released four new wines that are fun and sparkling variations of our popular fruit wines and now come in 375ml cans. These lighter, lower ABV versions have a sparkling effect and come in four flavors – Blackberry, Peach, Strawberry and Mango. For a night in idea, try the canned sparkling version and the traditional 750ml bottled wine to compare the differences. You could also do a blind taste test to see if your partner can guess the flavor! To purchase, you can find them online here in a special sampler combo pack.

2. Get outside. Staying home and social distancing doesn’t mean staying inside. As the spring weather warms up, go outside and enjoy the season. Sit around a fire with a glass of red wine, have a midday picnic with our limited release Strawberry Moscato, or sit on the porch or patio and watch the sunset with your special someone and favorite wine. Sunshine and warmer weather are sure to lighten everyone’s moods after a long winter.

3. Fruit wine mixology fun. Our popular fruit wines are made with 100% real fruit and are perfect to use as a base for mixology for some fun wine cocktails. Browse our website for different recipes such as Blackberry Mojito, Strawberry Lemonade, or Blueberry Gin Fitz. You can also have fun at home mixing up your own recipe. It’s simple –

    • Start with one of our eight fruit wines.
    • Add a spirit of your choice such as tequila, vodka, gin, or rum. Flavored spirits can add in another layer of flavors like vanilla or citrus!
    • Add some optional club soda or lemon-lime soda to give it some fizz.
    • Give it a splash of citrus such as lemon or lime.

The possibilities are endless and you can create some fun recipe inventions! Snap a picture of your recipe and share it with friends and family on social media. Maybe, take a moment to tag @stjameswinery while you’re at it.

4. Host a virtual comparative tasting. Make sure you and your friends have the same wines on hand and meet online!
For example, you and your friends could compare a Chardonnay to our Chardonel.

Or you could do a vertical tasting of the same wine but from different years. Currently, we have the following Norton wines available for purchase online:
Norton 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2011
Try the different wines, take notes, then compare and contrast to discuss them.

As a reminder, you can purchase our wine at stjameswinery.com, with curbside pick-up, and we just launched local delivery within the radius found on the map below. Read more about how our local delivery works here.

We hope these ideas will help you to sip back and relax in the weeks ahead! Cheers!

It’s a beautiful day – the sun is shining and a warm breeze is blowing through the trees. You’re out enjoying the best activities the outdoors has to offer. There’s not much that can make this summer day better, except perhaps a cool drink with the light and delicious flavor of ripe peaches made with real fruit juice.

This summer St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company are teaming up to share how life is sweeter with peaches. These two unique brands have a special offering of wines, beer and hard cider to make your summer more satisfying:

St. James Winery Peach Wine
The next best thing to biting into a fresh, ripe peach! This Peach fruit wine uses 100% real fruit juice and brings fresh-from-the-orchard peach flavors and aromas to your glass.

St. James Winery Peachy Sangria Seasonal Wine
A fresh and fruity blend of Peach, Raspberry and Moscato wines. This wine has aromas and flavors of freshly sliced peaches and juicy Moscato with a touch of raspberry on the finish.

McIntyre Cider Peach Hard Apple Cider
The aromas are juicy peaches mixed with fresh apple notes. The cider is a clear, sparkling blond in color. There are subtle flavors of biting into a ripe peach along with juicy apples, which comes from real fruit juice. The finish of the cider is clean and crisp.

Public House Brewing Company Farmstand Peach Ale Seasonal Beer
We captured juicy peach flavors in this golden easy-drinking seasonal and made sure the real fruit juice used was a good accent to the base beer, bringing balance and allowing the beer flavors to be present.

You can find these products together in local retailers throughout Missouri this summer.

You can also try the beverages at the Fermentation Campus in St. James, Mo. The campus contains award-winning, next-door neighbors St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company, with The Gardens between them acting as a shared outdoor wine and beer garden. Visit the Fermentation Campus today to discover more about how life is sweeter with peaches.

We are excited to announce our new line, the Winemaker Series. This collection features select wines that are carefully crafted by our St. James Winery Cellar Crew. The wines are handmade in small batches – typically anywhere from 50 to 500 cases – and feature the best-of-the-best varietals and blocks of grapes.

Fans of St. James Winery may recognize the varietals and blends as having been originally a part of our Podium Series, a line of innovative R&D wines. These selected wines have now been time-tested and have grown in popularity. They’ve been moved into the Winemaker Series to give the wines and our winemaking team recognition for their high quality grapes and winemaking skills.

The special packaging for the Winemaker Series, designed in-part by the winemakers themselves, highlights the high quality nature of the wine inside. The label notes details such as the growing region and even the vineyard blocks where the grapes were harvested. These factors contribute to the distinctive flavors captured in the bottle.

The first four wines released in the Winemaker Series include our 2016 vintages of Chambourcin, Dry Vignoles, Seyval and The Folly. There will be additional wines released into this line in the future.

St. James Winery is excited to announce our new Concord sweet red wine, which releases on March 31, 2017.

The wine is a tribute to the Concord grapes grown in the Ozark Highlands along Missouri’s Historic Route 66 for over 115 years. A long-term contract with a prestigious juice, jam and jelly company helped make these high-quality Concord grapes famous. Every year during harvest, Italian descendants still set up Concord grape stands along the highway to sell their fruit to travelers.

The Concord wine is juicy and sweet, with an intense grape jam flavor and light finish. Serve it at refrigerator temperature, over ice or mixed with a club soda to create a light, grape spritzer.

On March 31, the new Concord sweet red wine will be available for purchase in the Tasting Room, online at StJamesWinery.com and in retail stores where St. James Winery wines are sold.

That evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., we will host a special tasting event in our St. James Winery Tasting Room in St. James, Mo. Second-generation owner Peter Hofherr will discuss how Concord grapes have shaped the history of the area and sign bottles upon request. We’ll also be serving complimentary samples of the new Concord wine along with food pairings.

St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company are proud sponsors of the four-day True/False Film Fest in Columbia, Mo. for the next three years.

According to their website, True/False offers a heightened four-day weekend of creative placemaking in which filmmakers, artists, musicians and others remake the mid-sized college town into a one-of-a-kind utopia. The transformative, rambunctious, ecstatic experience of T/F creates a cathartic journey that forces participants to do nothing less than to re-imagine reality.

Like our winery and brewery, True/False believes in doing what is environmentally and socially just for our local and global community.

St. James Winery is a super sponsor and the exclusive wine and cider sponsor of the festival. Public House Brewing Company is a silver sponsor. The wine, hard cider and beer from both companies will be poured at all events throughout the festival.
