Peachy Sangria Wine

Peachy Sangria wine is a light and fresh blend of award-winning St. James Winery Peach, Raspberry, and Moscato wines, and it has returned just in time for summertime sipping. In each bottle of Peachy Sangria, you’ll enjoy aromas and flavors of freshly sliced peaches and juicy Moscato with a touch of raspberry on the finish. Peachy Sangria fan, Connie from Texas writes, “I love sweet wines and this is a perfect combination of peaches and sangria. I love the taste!”

That’s not all, peach fans, there’s more. Peachy Sangria now has a Sparkling partner! New Sparkling Peachy Sangria begins with the same blend of award-winning St. James Winery Peach, Raspberry, and Moscato wines. Then, our team adds just the right amount of sparkle and packages it in ready-to-drink 12-ounce cans. It’s a winning combination that’s right at home at the lake, poolside, and at your next backyard barbeque.

You’ll appreciate that both versions of Peachy Sangria wines are crafted with all-natural fruit, with never any artificial colors or flavors. The fruit flavors shine in these wines, and the Moscato adds a unique layer of both aroma and flavor. The wines are fruity and light without being overly sweet. Just perfect to quench your thirst on a relaxing summer evening.

Peachy Sangria and Sparkling Peachy Sangria are available today in our St. James, Missouri tasting room. Our tasting room is open seven days a week and conveniently located along I-44 at exit 195. Plan your visit and join us for a guided tasting.

There is much to celebrate! Executive Winemaker, Andrew Meggitt, and Vineyard Manager, Sam Cobb, shared some insights about this year’s Harvest.  During the forty two day Harvest, over 950 tons of grapes were gathered from our local vineyards.  This tonnage includes twelve varietals of grapes that are in full production, and five from our experimental blocks.  Sam and Andrew agreed that, while the environmental factors created challenges, the hard work of our dedicated staff paid off.  Sam further explained, “As a whole, I think Missouri had a rough growing season. Some of our favorite varietals suffered significant damage from the frost early in the season, while others tolerated the inclement weather better”.  While overall yield was down, Andrew added, “The quality we harvested was excellent. Norton was more consistent from site to site than we have had in ten years”.

Speaking of Norton, the long-awaited Norton 42 is available now in our tasting room.  Read more about our Winemaker Series wines here, and remember there’s a tasting from 1 pm – 3 pm in The Gardens during Harvest Festival.

Cheers to our cellar and vineyard crews for their outstanding work and dedication. 🥂 Let’s celebrate together at Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 17th!

For the second year in a row, St. James Winery is happy to announce being a proud sponsor of Sporting KC.

As part of this sponsorship, you might notice giveaways, contests or joint advertising with Sporting KC. Another great perk, you can enjoy some of your favorite Missouri wine while watching a game at Children’s Mercy Park stadium in Kansas City.

We’re looking forward to what the 2019 soccer season will bring to the team and wish them the best of luck. Cheers to Sporting KC!

St. James Winery’s Executive Winemaker, Andrew Meggitt, and his team (both vineyard and cellar) have developed a line of specialty wines for your enjoyment. These wines are produced in a small batch and will be available while supplies last. Two whites and two reds make up this limited line of 2017 vintages.

The two sweet whites include our Late Harvest Traminette and Late Harvest Chardonel. The 2017 harvest season in the St. James Winery vineyards presented the ideal conditions for a late ripening season which produced the perfect fruit for these unique wines.

The Late Harvest Traminette was made in the hope of capturing all the best flavors of Traminette, with the concentration that we get from late harvest grapes. Our executive winemaker noted that it is notoriously difficult to get Traminette very ripe, but the ideal growing season for 2017 ultimately produced a high quality wine. It is the first time St. James Winery has ever crafted this wine and we’re in love with the flavors.

For Late Harvest Chardonel, the last time St. James Winery presented this wine was in 2007. The 2017 vintage is a wonderful example of a late harvest Chardonel with concentrated apricot and supple fruit flavors.

Both of these whites are great served chilled with a variety of foods including brie, poached pears or even crème brûlée.

The two reds in the new specialty line are dessert wines that provide warmth with their elevated alcohol levels. These wines are an ideal night cap for a cold winter’s night. Imagine curling up with your favorite book, in front of the fireplace and sipping on one of these reds from a sherry glass.

The 2017 Blackberry Dessert Wine was a research and development project that all the production team contributed to. This dessert-style wine is a 50/50 blend of an experiment of two wine making techniques: one traditional and one innovative. The result is a sweet, warming sensation for the palate.

Our Fiddler’s Duet Dessert Wine is a blend of Norton and Rougeoun combining to create a port-style wine. St. James Winery first crafted this style of wine in 2006. From there, Fiddler’s Duet was born providing a mildly sweet taste to the palate.

Our tasting room associates recommend the process of tasting this wine in three parts. The initial sip will provide the palate with the elevated alcohol, while still presenting the notes of the wine. During the second taste, the wine’s profile develops on the palate revealing the complexity of the blend. With the third sip, we recommend the pairing of dark chocolate. This takes the wine to a new level of decadence.

Visit our Tasting Room and ask about sampling or visit our online store to discover these wines more in depth.

Our St. James Winery vineyard team works hard year-round to grow the best flavors. Bud rubbing is an important task that typically takes place in late spring and directly impacts the way the grapes develop.

By removing the shoots and buds that are starting to grow on the lower parts of the vine, it helps send all the energy and nutrients into the grapes and canopy during this important growth time.

Watch William McIntyre, a member of our vineyard staff, show how it’s done in the St. James Winery vineyards:

Now that you are familiar with what bud rubbing is and how it impacts our grapes, taste the fruits of our past labors!

It’s a beautiful day – the sun is shining and a warm breeze is blowing through the trees. You’re out enjoying the best activities the outdoors has to offer. There’s not much that can make this summer day better, except perhaps a cool drink with the light and delicious flavor of ripe peaches made with real fruit juice.

This summer St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company are teaming up to share how life is sweeter with peaches. These two unique brands have a special offering of wines, beer and hard cider to make your summer more satisfying:

St. James Winery Peach Wine
The next best thing to biting into a fresh, ripe peach! This Peach fruit wine uses 100% real fruit juice and brings fresh-from-the-orchard peach flavors and aromas to your glass.

St. James Winery Peachy Sangria Seasonal Wine
A fresh and fruity blend of Peach, Raspberry and Moscato wines. This wine has aromas and flavors of freshly sliced peaches and juicy Moscato with a touch of raspberry on the finish.

McIntyre Cider Peach Hard Apple Cider
The aromas are juicy peaches mixed with fresh apple notes. The cider is a clear, sparkling blond in color. There are subtle flavors of biting into a ripe peach along with juicy apples, which comes from real fruit juice. The finish of the cider is clean and crisp.

Public House Brewing Company Farmstand Peach Ale Seasonal Beer
We captured juicy peach flavors in this golden easy-drinking seasonal and made sure the real fruit juice used was a good accent to the base beer, bringing balance and allowing the beer flavors to be present.

You can find these products together in local retailers throughout Missouri this summer.

You can also try the beverages at the Fermentation Campus in St. James, Mo. The campus contains award-winning, next-door neighbors St. James Winery and Public House Brewing Company, with The Gardens between them acting as a shared outdoor wine and beer garden. Visit the Fermentation Campus today to discover more about how life is sweeter with peaches.
