When it’s time for a party to spice up a bleak mid-winter weekend, think 1.5 liter bottles from St. James Winery. Three of our most popular wines –Velvet Red, Velvet White, and Pink Catawba — are all available in the 1.5 liter size.

Stir up a punch bowl full of deliciousness and still have plenty leftover to enjoy! Here are three great recipe ideas to try:

Remember, when these recipes call for a “bottle of wine” it’s a 750ml sized bottle. So use half for the punch and save half for your guests who would like to enjoy a glass of wine.

Look for the 1.5 liter bottles of St. James Winery Velvet Red, Velvet White, and Pink Catawba in your favorite grocery or liquor store!

Some of the best holiday parties are the most casual ones. Call the friends and tell everyone to bring something to nibble on and share. The serving table is a mish-mash of goodies, and the best part of the party is simply being together.

Still, every get-together has challenges, and at an occasion like this, one of the big questions is: what wine goes with everything from little sausages in barbecue sauce to sugar cookies to garlic bagel chips and stinky cheese dips?

Try St. James Winery Moscato! Light and fruity, with aromas of dried apricot and pineapple, our Moscato tastes of crisp nectarine, apricot, and tropical fruit. A true semi-sweet, St. James Winery Moscato has wide appeal, and because this wine is crafted to be enjoyed young, don’t save it until next year. Drink it now!

For a nice light and fruity red to serve alongside, our 2012 Nouveau is a great party wine with its flavors of red cherries, fresh raspberries, and underlying notes of cocoa. Like Moscato, Nouveau is a wine to enjoy right now.

So why not do just that? Enjoy young wines at the end of an old year — and let the rest of the party take care of itself.

Annually on the third Thursday in November, the first wine bottled to celebrate the new harvest is released for sale. Not all wineries produce a Nouveau, and in fact, St. James Winery is proud to be one of a select group of wineries that produces a Nouveau wine each year.

St. James Winery’s 2012 Nouveau is a lovely dry red, crafted from a select blend of Chambourcin and Rougeon grapes that were grown in the Ozark Highlands AVA. This wine is bursting with flavors of red cherries and fresh raspberries, with underlying notes of cocoa.

A light and fruity wine with low residual sugar, 2012 Nouveau will be a wonderful addition to your Thanksgiving dinner table when paired it with turkey and all the trimmings.

Because Nouveau is made to be enjoyed while it is young, now’s the time to buy it, drink it, and enjoy it.

Happy Halloween from St. James Winery!

Time once again to answer the important, perennial question wine lovers face each Halloween:

What wine(s) pair best with candy corn and circus peanuts?

Here at St. James Winery, we know for sure we love our St. James Winery Riesling with freshly dipped caramel apples and pears (maybe rolled in candy corn!).

And if you’re in the market for savory deliciousness after an evening of trick or treating, our St. James Winery Cynthiana tastes great alongside firebaked pepperoni pizza or a steaming pot of chili.

Place an order today (Halloween Day — 10/31!), we have no tricks in store, just treats!

Score our St. James Winery logo neoprene wine caddy absolutely free with the purchase of 6 bottles or more of wine during the month of October. But act fast, this offer ends when the clock strikes midnight at the winery.

At St. James Winery there aren’t any tricks involved in making our delicious wines. Still, sometimes when we taste the results, we wonder if maybe there was a little bit of magic involved after all.

Satisfy Your Sweet reflects St. James Winery’s dedication to spot-on flavor in every single bottle of wine they make.  “Delivering on quality is really important to us, especially in light of a recent study that proves people who prefer sweet wines actually have the highest level of taste sensitivity,” said Hofherr. “Here at the winery we work hard to make sure our sweet wines delivers consistent flavor from bottle to bottle, year in, year out. That consistency is one of the reasons our sweet wine fans are so devoted to our sweet wines. Our fans are tremendous brand ambassadors for us, and we love them for it.”

To connect with those brand ambassadors, St. James Winery plans for full social media engagement as part of the Satisfy Your Sweet campaign.  Anchored by a QR code promotion, there will be Facebook and Twitter contests for opportunities to win neoprene bottle holders or ice buckets featuring the St. James Winery logo.  Look for Satisfy Your Sweet point of sale materials for Velvet Red, Velvet White, Pink Catawba, Country Red, and Country White wine in the wine section of grocery, liquor, or wine stores throughout the Midwest and South.
