Blackberry Wine Compote
A new recipe from our creative kitchen, Blackberry Wine Compote is made from fresh blackberries, a bit of lemon juice, a dash of sugar, and all-natural Blackberry Wine. Enjoy the sweet and decadent blackberry flavor and the wonderfully silky texture of this compote over pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or cheesecake.
2 cups of fresh blackberries, washed
2/3 cup of St. James Winery Blackberry Wine
1 Tbs. of fresh lemon juice
1 Tbs. of granulated sugar
In a heavy saucepan, gently stir together all of the ingredients over medium to medium-high heat. Allow the mixture to heat at a low boil for 10-15 minutes, or until desired consistency of the berries is achieved. The compote will thicken as it cools, and you may choose to mash the berries a bit or leave them whole.
