Fly into the Tasting Room in St. James, Missouri to catch a good time at the first annual Fly Fest at the Winery event!

Saturday, February 26, 2022, we’re flying into Missouri Trout Season with a new event in our St. James, Missouri Tasting Room. Fly Fest is scheduled from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The event will feature an expert guest speaker, Herbert Turner of the Roubidoux Fly Fishers Association. Each attendee will receive a complimentary door prize entry and a glass of Public House Brewing Company beer.

Opening Day of trout season in Missouri comes around every year on March 1st. Each new season is just as exciting as the one before. Here in St. James, Missouri, we welcome avid fishers from across the region and beyond to nearby Meramec Spring Park. Adding recyclable, eco-friendly canned wines to our offerings has been a goal for many years, and a goal we achieved in 2020. Our friends and neighbors at Public House made the switch from bottled beer to canned beer a few years ago, giving their brews greater versatility and an environmental fit to our region.

During the event, we invite you to sample wines, including the many canned wine varietals, and Public House Brewing Company beers. We are enjoying our new draft system and will have seven beers on tap!

By the way, did you know that Public House features a beer named Dry Fly? It’s true! Dry Fly is a Session IPA, easy-drinking, citrus-forward, and features label art by Al Agnew, our favorite fly fisherman. During the event, you can enjoy Dry Fly IPA on tap, and we’ll have a discount on six-packs, so you can even take it along for the opening day. Side note about Dry Fly IPA – due to a recent copyright issue, the beer name is changing later this year from Dry Fly to MO IPA. The artwork will remain the same, but if you want to be sure to snag some originally-named Dry Fly, this event is your best opportunity!
