Tasters Love St. James Winery Print

St. James Winery took home whopping 25 medals, 12 of which were Gold, from the recent Tasters Guild International wine judging. Considered one of the top wine competitions in the country, the 2009 Tasters Guild International had over 2000 entries from 36 states and 13 countries.

 

"To win so many Golds in one competition is phenomenal," said Peter Hofherr, St. James Winery C.E.O. "Quality and value has been the focus of our winery for 39 years."

Double Gold medal honors went to St. James 2005 Late Harvest Vignoles which judges called "extremely flavorful" and a "fine example of how delicious the Vignoles grape can be." Gold medals were awarded to 10 other St. James Wines: 2007 Vintner’s Select Vignoles, Velvet White, Velvet Red, Strawberry, Pink Catawba, 2005 Norton, 2005 Cynthiana, Country White, 2005 Late Harvest Chardonel and 2006 Chardonel Dessert wine.

St. James Winery also earned nine Silver awards and four Bronzes at the judging which was held in early May.
